The
Greater Parish Area Chamber of Commerce's "Parish
Olde Home Day" will be held at the
Farmers Market, at the open lot on the corner of
State Routes 69 & 69A (Main St. & S. Railroad St.) 9
a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8.
On the schedule so far: Amish(veggies, baked goods, quilts and rugs); Ann Passmore (baskets & quilts); Evelyn Stelmashuck; Florence Gardner (chair caning); Henry Gloude (chainsaw carving); Parish United Methodist Church (home made ice cream); Parish Town Historical Society; Parish-Hastings Presbyterian Church (bake sale); Right Step Dance Studio (sign ups); Sharon Robbins (doll collection); Skunk Meadow Poultry Ranch; Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer table and Sue Romanowski (bread making). Chet Sayer is donating some Blue Bird Houses with his name on them. Cynthia Morrell of Richard E Jenkins Insurance Agency will conduct finger-printing for children. The Greater Parish Area Chamber of Commerce will be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers and plenty of ice cold drinks will be available for purchase. The Parish Town Historical Society will have the Parish Lions Club display at the Parish Public Library and selling more chances for the awesome fire pit crafted by Doug Houghton. The Parish Town Historical Society is raffling a fire pit created by local artisan, Doug Houghton. The tickets are $1.00 each or six for $5.00. The drawing will be held on August 8th, at the Olde Home Day. This is the third year the Historical Society has featured the talents of a Parish artist. The society is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our rich local history and talents, whether it be buildings or artists. Members of the society will be selling tickets.
