Tuesday, February 23, The Parish Public Library, Greater Parish Area of Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of the Parish Public Library honored the 2008 and 2009 top winners "Focus on Parish" photo contest. Dan Dalin, President of the Chamber thanked all for coming and introduced and congratulated all the winners. Each of the photographers told a little about the inspiration they had in their winning shots. Refreshments were served and a general good time was had by all. Have you been wondering how much that antique or family heirloom is truly worth? Bring your treasures to the Mills & Petrie Gymnasium on Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and appraisers Gerald and Nettie Petro of Iroquois Auctions will tell you the value of your cherished keepsake. Nettie specializes in antique books. The Petros will also be buying gold and silver. The Petros offer their appraisal services free of charge to the Friends of the Parish Public Library. All proceeds will be used to sponsor programs at the Parish Public Library. The cost to you is only $3.00 for one item to be appraised- $3.00 and 2 items $5.00; each additional item $2.50 sponsored by “Friends of the Parish Public Library”.
